Missing 39-year-old Kitchener-area man found dead in Lake Nipissing

WEST NIPISSING — The body of a man originally reported missing from the Kitchener-area has been found in Lake Nipissing.

Police found 39-year-old Jason Prang’s body in the lake on Friday morning. An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Monday.

Initially reported missing to Waterloo Regional Police, Prang travelled to the North Monetville area, southeast of Sudbury, where he spent some time at a family cottage before leaving on foot Monday morning.

West Nipissing Police were called that night. Some of Prang’s personal belongings were found at the edge of Lake Nipissing on Wednesday, where searchers from West Nipissing Police and the OPP focused their search.

Police said Prang’s body was found several hundred metres from where the personal items were found.
