Motorcycles, porch music and more this weekend
WATERLOO REGION — Choose from free outdoor festivals, porch parties and fun indoor activities this summer weekend. Here’s a short list: Kitchener’s Rock and Rumble Motorcycle Rally started on Friday and continues at Carl Zehr Square this Saturday with live music and food trucks.
Come down to the free event to check out hundreds of vintage motorcycles or dig into some food truck fare and craft beers.
The Schneider Creek Porch Party is also this Saturday. Pop by the Kitchener neighbourhood bound by Courtland Avenue, Mill Street and Queen Street to enjoy music on porches all afternoon. For more information, visit the website at scporchparty.weebly.com.
Music at Bread and Rose Housing Co-op and Joseph Schneider Haus goes from 3 to 4 p.m. Porches on Whitney, Mitchell and Benton streets will have music from 4 to 7 p.m.
If it’s too hot for you this weekend, pop by the Waterloo Region Museum to celebrate international book day. Check out historical cookbooks and enjoy readings at McArthur house. International book day is July 30. Regular museum admission applies.
Drop in to Themuseum in downtown Kitchener on Sunday for Engineering in Action. Children will get to learn about engineering through fun experiments with students from the University of Waterloo Engineering society. Regular museum admission applies.
