Waterloo under-14 girls heading to Ontario Cup Finals

The Waterloo United under-14 girls’ soccer team is capping off an impressive season by competing at the Ontario Cup Finals in Vaughan on Sept. 11. After winning two tournaments already this season, the girls cruised through the round robin of the Ontario Cup with victories over teams from Windsor, St. Catharines and Erin Mills by a combined score of 17-0. Waterloo then disposed of a team from Hamilton, 4-1, in the quarter-finals, and earned a bye to the final where its opponent is yet to be determined. If Waterloo wins, it will advance to the Canada Soccer SportChek National Championships being held in Moncton, N.B., from Oct. 5 to 10.
