‘This is happiness’: Ovechkin confirms vows to ‘Ovechkina’

On Sunday, National Hockey League superstar Alex Ovechkin confirmed what Russian tabloids had speculated for a week: The Washington Capitals captain and fiancée Nastya Shubskaya got married. Ovechkin shared the news via an Instagram photo of the couple holding hands — and wearing wedding bands — and a caption that says, in Russian: “This is happiness.” Shubskaya, a model and daughter of Russian actress Vera Glagoleva, changed her last name on her Instagram page to ‘Ovechkina.’ NHL.com reports the couple was married at a “small private wedding” in Russia. Ovechkin and Shubskaya got engaged last September. Reports that they were married intensified after she posted a photo of the couple in white attire last week.
