Carter’s suspension upheld for bumping Ottawa’s Campbell

-

TORONTO — An independent arbitrator has rejected receiver Duron Carter’s appeal of the one-game suspension he received for bumping into Ottawa Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell during a game earlier this season. The league suspended him for one game following the incident in Ottawa’s 28-13 win over Montreal on June 30. But the Montreal receiver appealed the ruling. The Alouettes fined Carter, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame player Cris Carter, for the incident. Carter, Montreal’s receiving leader with 46 catches for 717 yards and five TDs, won’t play Thursday night when the Alouettes host Ottawa.
