Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro launches real-time outage map

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro customers can now use their smartphones to get up-to-date information whenever there is a power outage. Customers can access the map at outage.kwhydro.ca. It updates every two minutes and provides details about outages, including the area affected, the number of customers without power, expected time to restore power and cause of the outage. The map is designed to adapt to any screen size or browser. Hydro customers elsewhere in the region already have access to online outage information. Waterloo North Hydro launched the service almost a year ago, while Energy Plus’s Cambridge and North Dumfries customers have had such service since March.
