Penguins lock netminder Murray up for three years

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins rewarded goaltender Matt Murray’s work in the National Hockey League playoffs with a new contract. The team announced Thursday that Murray has agreed to a three-year extension that will run through the 2019-2020 season and carries an average annual value of $3.75 million. The 22year-old Murray helped the Penguins to the franchise’s fourth championsh­ip last spring after taking over for injured Marc-André Fleury and holding onto the job once Fleury returned from a concussion.
