Amy Schumer not really sorry for insulting Donald Trump

Amy Schumer responded to an incident at her comedy show over the weekend in Tampa, Florida — in which Donald Trump supporters walked out after Schumer made fun of the GOP candidate — with a faux apology that doubled down on her sendup of Trump. At another show at Madison Square Garden in New York on Tuesday night, Schumer read an “open letter” to the city of Tampa that was all mock apology: “After the show, I want you to know I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy, both the very rich people who will vote for him and the very poor people, who’ve been tricked into it,” she said with sarcastic contrition, per a video posted by an attendee. “And Tampa, I shouldn’t have said that he was an orange, sexually assaulting fake-college-starting monster … I will never again say that he is an orange, sexually assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.”
