Rat poison kills local dog, humane society investigat­ing

A dog’s death due to rat poison is being investigat­ed by the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society. A toxicology report on the shepherd-type dog revealed the animal had been poisoned with rodenticid­e on Feb. 1. The incident occurred at one of two locations, at West Court Place in Waterloo or Snyder’s Flat Road in Bloomingda­le. The humane society would like to hear from anyone whose dog may have died suddenly without known cause or may have visited one of the two locations. Insp.
