Arson attempt leads to arrest of Waterloo man

A man covered in gasoline and threatening to set himself on fire was arrested at a Sydney Street residence around 4 p.m. on Thursday. Police say the 59-yearold Waterloo man had tried to light a residence in the area on fire. He also threatened officers, saying they would get hurt if they tried to touch him. Charges against the man include attempted arson endangering human life, possession of an incendiary device, uttering threats, assaulting police and breach of probation.
