Guelph Concert Band brings the world to music lovers on Feb. 26

The Guelph Concert Band performs its annual “Guelph Around the World” at the River Run Centre on Feb. 26, 3 p.m. The afternoon will feature a core group of volunteer musicians, joined by talented local guest performers. This year’s guests bring international experience and flavour to complement the jet-setting repertoire. A highlight of the concert will be music from “Swan Lake,” arranged by and featuring one of the band’s youngest members, violinist Bridget Walsh. Russian ballerina Ekaterina Tikanova, formerly of the Imperial Russian Ballet, will perform. Guest performers include Adrian Raso, a member of Guelph’s Italian community, with his signature gypsy-style guitar; the John McLelland Jazz Quartet; and dancers from Celtic Academy Irish Dance Canada.
