Symphony goes to the movies with music, mayhem, popcorn
The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony will feature two high-energy concerts in February and March, incorporating familiar movie scores. “Music from the Movies” led by the symphony’s assistant conductor, Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, will feature iconic scores from well-loved films, everything from “Star Trek” to “Forrest Gump.” The concert runs on Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 25, 2:30 and 8 p.m. Next up is the silly shenanigans of the silent screen, Charlie Chaplin’s “Modern Times” on March 31 and April 1 at 8 p.m. This concert is headed by American conductor Timothy Brock, a specialist in concert works of the early 20th century. Both concerts are performed on stage at Centre in the Square, 101 Queen St. N., Kitchener. Tickets available online at kwsymphony.ca, call 519745-4711, toll-free 1-888-745-4717.
