The Little Paris Bookshop, by Nina George, published by Crown, 400 Pages

Once in a while, a rare book comes along that touches your heart and soul. “Little Paris Bookshop” is that book. Beautiful. Meaningful. Wonderful. With words so true, they hit you in the chest and stick in your mind. I guarantee that you will love this book! Jean Perdu runs his bookshop on a barge on the Seine River. He calls himself a literary apothecary and he prescribes books to help people deal with lost love, loneliness and other “spiritual maladies”. But Monsieur Perdu himself is lost. He’s been haunted by his own heartbreak. 21 years ago the love of his life left him with a note he’s never opened and he stopping truly living. Several forces conspire to send Jean on the adventure of a lifetime sailing down the river with a young author with writer’s block and a lovelorn cook. Not just a mix of quirky characters and funny moments, (although they’re here too) this magical book is a sumptuous treat for your senses and an ode to loving and living fully.
