Summer coming at a snail’s pace
WATERLOO REGION — It turned into a warm and sunny day on Wednesday as temperatures hit 18 C by mid afternoon.
People shed their sweaters and jackets and basked in the sunshine at Carl Zehr Square over the lunch hour.
The summerlike temperatures will continue into Thursday with an expected high of 25 C, according to Environment Canada.
Don’t get too excited about the warm, sunny weather just yet because it won’t last for long.
Even though it could hit a high of 25 C on Thursday, it will be accompanied by a high risk of cloudiness, high winds and thundershowers.
Then cooler temperatures will return by the weekend, so keep your umbrellas and rain jackets handy.
Expect a high of 12 C and showers on Saturday. It will most likely drop to 5 C at night. The showers may continue on Sunday with a slightly warmer high of 15 C and a low of 10 C.
Showers and moderate temperatures will most likely continue on Monday and Tuesday.
