Kitchener man arrested after police chase

A 22-year-old Kitchener man faces charges after a police chase on Tuesday. Acting Staff Sgt. Steve Girhiny of the Waterloo Regional Police said police began following a stolen car on King Street East in Cambridge at about 2:30 a.m. They called off the pursuit because of unsafe driving, he said. The driver was found and arrested soon after on Cedar Creek Road in Ayr. The man is charged with flight from police, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, dangerous driving, assault, and possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.
