Golden Hawks extend offensive line coach Daymond

-

Wilfrid Laurier University’s men’s football team and their offensive line coach, Irv Daymond, have agreed to a fiveyear contract extension through 2021, the team announced Wednesday. Daymond has been with the Golden Hawks since ’13, and since then has overseen a complete rebuild of the team’s offensive line, which peaked in ’16 when Laurier had the top rushing offense in the country. His work paved the way for former running back Dillon Campbell to lead Ontario University Athletics in rushing for three consecutive years. His offensive line has also protected the team’s quarterbacks, allowing just 1.5 sacks per game, including eight all of last season. Prior to joining the Golden Hawks, Daymond spent time with the Ottawa Gee-Gees and the McGill Redmen
