Fire trucks, fundraiser walks and Tri-Pride this weekend

WATERLOO REGION — There’s a lot to do in the region this weekend from a vintage fire truck parade in Cambridge to fundraiser walks in Kitchener and Waterloo. Here’s a short list: Celebrate 175 years of the Cambridge Fire Department on Saturday with a parade of old fire trucks and an afternoon of fun activities. There will be firefighte­r demonstrat­ions, fire safety tips, food trucks and activities for children.

Walk to fight arthritis in Kitchener on Sunday. The Arthritis Society raises money for research to help find a cure. You can choose from a one-kilometre or five-kilometre route.

There is another walk happening at Waterloo Public Square on Sunday. The World Partnershi­p Walk raises money to fight poverty across the globe. It is hosted by the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. Tri-Pride ends two weeks of activities to celebrate the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and questionin­g) community this weekend with a music festival on Saturday and a picnic in the park on Sunday.
