June is Stroke Awareness Month. March of Dimes Canada hospital peer mentors are stroke survivors or caregivers who visit new stroke survivors within the hospital. We are looking for new peer mentors to visit in the hospital to provide hope and resources to help new stroke survivors thrive. Spend time with new friends this summer at Parkwood Mennonite Home. Hang out for a few hours, swapping stories with seniors and strolling in the sun. Pass the rollers and the compliment­s in the hair salon or the coffee and cookies in the café. Play balloon badminton, do no-bake baking and mess with clay. The Sexual Health Options, Resources and Education Centre is looking for a pro-choice family doctor to volunteer as a spokespers­on and adviser on a special project to increase SHORE Centre’s visibility within the health care community.
