Adaptive ice-skating coaches needed to support SkateABLE one hour per week from October to December at Albert McCormick Arena. Coaches will assist skaters with physical disabilities learning to skate for the first time. All volunteers must have a strong skating background. Training is provided. KW Counselling Services is recruiting volunteers for their Walk-In Counselling Clinic on Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m. (sessions end at 8 p.m.). Volunteer Therapists will provide single-session counselling to clients and must have a MSW or equivalent. Volunteer Intake Workers must have a BSW or equivalent. It is preferred that volunteers commit to specific hours each week. Volunteers will receive clinical coaching from a clinical director and/or peers before sessions, attend group supervision and access other professional development opportunities. Community Support Connections — Meals on Wheels and More is seeking volunteer drivers to deliver hot and nutritious meals to socially isolated seniors and adults with disabilities during the noon hour, Monday to Friday. Flexible position — you let us know when you’re available, and we’ll schedule you with a delivery only during that time. Whether you are retired or have a few hours to give, being a Meals on Wheels driver is a rewarding experience. You will make an incredible difference by enabling people to live at home with independence and with dignity. Mileage reimbursement available.
