Adaptive ice skating coaches needed to support SkateABLE one hour per week from October to December at Albert McCormick Arena. Coaches will assist skaters with physical disabiliti­es learning to skate for the first time. All volunteers must have a strong skating background. Training is provided. Navy League of Canada provides funding for the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps, Warspite, making it available to all youth ages 12 to 18, regardless of economic status. Board member volunteers are needed to attend our monthly meetings and to assist in various fundraisin­g activities, including a spring dance, a fall spaghetti dinner, and bi-weekly bingo. Bingo runs every other Saturday from 11:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Volunteers sell cards to customers and hand out prize money. Our large single events involve ticket selling, set-up and tear-down, and cooking. Select those jobs that suit your skillset. Support Victim Services of Waterloo Region and become a Volunteer Crisis Responder. Crisis responders assist victims of crime and tragic circumstan­ces by providing crisis interventi­on, emotional support, informatio­n and community referrals. You must be 19 years old, willing to commit two years to this position, in addition to having a driver’s licence and a vehicle.
