WATERLOO REGION — Eat some ribs in Cambridge, frolic at a picnic in Waterloo Park or listen to live music in New Hamburg this weekend. There’s a lot to do. Here’s a short list. Come celebrate at a picnic in the park with Waterloo Public Library on Saturday. The library’s party to celebrate Canada 150 will feature fun activities for children and adults as well as food, maker space pop-ups and more. The picnic will also unveil Waterloo Park’s newest piece of community art, a 55-foot harvest table. For a more detailed schedule of activities, visit the website at www.wpl.ca/picnic_in_park. Meet beside the skate park on Father David Bauer Drive.

Cambridge Ribfest continues in Riverside Park all weekend. The annual festival is the Rotary Clubs of Cambridge Sunrise & Cambridge North Main fundraiser of the year. Come for the food, fun and entertainment. There will also be lots of vegetarian food items for sale as well.

The Baden Corn Festival is back this weekend. Celebrate the township’s agricultural heritage and enjoy free activities like mill tours, horse and wagon rides and more. The event kicks off with a firefighters’ breakfast first thing Saturday morning.

The Kitchener Blues Festival continues into the weekend at various locations in downtown Kitchener. Check out the website at www.kitchenerbluesfestival.com for a detailed schedule of free and ticketed shows all weekend.
