Grand River Transit wants public input on route changes

- Record staff

WATERLOO REGION — Grand River Transit is looking for public input on the transit network as the launch of light rail looms.

Seven public consultation centres are scheduled for this fall, starting next week.

Many bus routes will be changed to connect directly to Ion stations and to support a grid network for more efficient travel; some routes will run more directly and more often between important destinations.

Residents can learn drop in at the consultation centres to learn more about the proposed changes and give feedback.

Details on the proposed changes in 2018, including maps, will be posted on the transit service’s website before the first consultation. The sessions are as follows: Sept. 13 — Waterloo Public Square, 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Sept. 18 — Country Hills Community Library, Kitchener, 3 to 8 p.m.

Sept. 21 — Conestoga Mall (Door 4), Waterloo, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sept. 27 — Wilfrid Laurier University, Fred Nichols Campus Centre, 2 to 7 p.m.

Oct. 3 — Region of Waterloo headquarters, Kitchener, 3 to 7 p.m.
