14 businesses in region on Profit 500 list

WATERLOO REGION — Fourteen Waterloo Region firms are on this year’s Profit 500 list of the country’s fastest-growing companies.

Sortable, a Kitchener-based provider of automated ad-optimizati­on software, leads the local contingent at No. 12, with five-year revenue growth of 4,995 per cent in the previous five years.

The other local firms on the list published by Canadian Business are: Axonify (ranked 25th with five-year revenue growth of 2,421 per cent); Magnet Forensics (27th, 2,386 per cent); Dejero (53rd, 1,356 per cent); Keyspire (69th, 1,011 per cent); Diva Internatio­nal (103rd, 712 per cent); Stance Healthcare (165th, 414 per cent); Financial Horizons Group (253rd, 239 per cent); VinyTrends (281st, 210 per cent); Angstrom Engineerin­g (312th, 187 per cent); Six S Partners (318th, 178 per cent); AET Group (344th, 162 per cent); Liftsafe Group of Cos. (467th, 87 per cent); and Eclipse Automation (490th, 81 per cent).

Gillam Group, a Toronto-based constructi­on company, topped the list with five-year revenue growth of 29,256 per cent.

Companies nominate themselves to be on the list. To be eligible, they needed a minimum of $2 million in annual revenue in the most recent fiscal year.

Kitchener’s Swift Labs is 14th on the Profit 500 list of the 50 fastestgro­wing startups. It had two-year revenue growth of 863 per cent in the previous two years. Firms on the startup list had a minimum of $1 million in annual revenue in the most recent fiscal year.
