PBS talk show, Third Rail, seeks big questions behind the news
The “third rail” in the new PBS talk show with that name represents the contentious topics brought up, like race, lying and America’s role in the world. Show moderator Carlos Watson and creator Denise DiIanni wanted a program that gets to the heart of issues in the news and addresses them with people who aren’t the usual suspects on topical programs. It is midway through a two-month run Friday nights on PBS. Writers Malcolm Gladwell and Roxane Gay, Mo Rocca of CBS News and Harvard educated actor Hill Harper have debated issues on the show.
