2017 ACURA MDX

Updated for 2017 – When it comes to combining luxury and utility, the MDX is Acura’s ace in the hole. For 2017 the seven-passenger tall wagon receives new front- and rear-end treatments (including a new grille) as well as a new hybrid powertrain option adapted from the flagship RLX that produces a system output of 325 horsepower. Acura claims the hybrid will reduce fuel consumptio­n by about 20 per cent in 3.5-litre city driving. V-6 that Unchanged makes 290 is horsepower. the MDX’s It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmissi­on. Added as standard on all trim levels is Acura’s AcuraWatch system. Among its many features is adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow that maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front, while collision-mitigating braking will bring the MDX to a full stop, if necessary, to avoid a crash. Also included is road-departure mitigation that helps keep you in your lane as well as from heading off the road entirely. Blind spot monitoring and crosstraff­ic alerts also help keep you safe when your eyes surrounded when backing by traffic up. and A navigation act as system, premium audio package, rear-seat entertainm­ent screen and a GPS-linked climate control that varies the cabin temp according to the sun’s position are all on the MDX’s option list.

The 2017 Acura MDX has earned Top Safety Pick+ the highest designatio­n from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), for its fourth consecutiv­e year.

Acura earned a total of two Top Safety Pick+ and two Top Safety Pic ratings for 2017, making Acura a top leader in safety ratings in the automotive industry.

Acura Top Safety Pick+ vehicles for 2017 were: MDX and RDX with available AcuraWatch. Acura Top Safety Pick vehicles for 2017 were: ILX with available AcuraWatch and RLX.

The AcuraWatch suite of active safety and driver-assistive technologi­es is offered as standard equipment on all 2017 MDX and 2017 RLX models, and is available on all 2017 Acura sedans and SUVs.

AcuraWatch technologi­es include Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF).

All new Acura models come with a multi-angle rearview camera as standard equipment. Additional standard safety equipment on all models include Advance Compatibil­ity Engineerin­g (ACE) body structure; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control; Anti-lock Braking System (ABS); side curtain airbags (some vehicles equipped with a rollover sensor as well); advanced front airbags and front side airbags.
