There’s a lot to do in the region this weekend, here’s the shortlist:
Starting this weekend, the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery will host free Sunday screenings throughout February. All the films are Canadian documentaries relating to the current exhibitions at the gallery. They all represent themes of hospitality and home. The first documentary, Where I Belong, will play this Sunday afternoon. The 2007 film is about Arinze Eze who was born in Canada but raised in Nigeria. Eze, an engineer, returns to Canada after 20 years away, switches careers and falls in love with a Canadian. His parents come for a visit to see him in his new life.
Stay warm indoors at the Waterloo Winter Market at RIM Park. There will be about 100 vendors and artisans including wood workers, glass blowers, jewelry makers and more. Admission to the event is $3 per person but those 12 and under are free.
