FIGURE SKATING Weaver, Poje sit third
ASSAGO, ITALY — Canadian ice dancers Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje are third after the short program at the world figure skating championships. The couple finished with 78.31 points Friday. Canadian stars Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, who won gold at the Pyeongchang Olympics last month, are not competing and are expected to retire from competitive skating. Toronto’s Weaver and Poje, from Waterloo, were seventh in Korea.
