Group facilitato­rs needed for restorativ­e justice program

Community Justice Initiative­s is looking for Revive group facilitato­rs to co-facilitate groups for people who have been impacted by sexual abuse/trauma using a restorativ­e justice framework. Volunteers must have a good understand­ing of personal boundaries, a willingnes­s to be non-judgmental, and caring is an asset. Training dates: Thursday, May 24 and 31 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.; May 25, 26, and June 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All sessions are mandatory. A training fee applies. Commitment of a year is required. Outstandin­g and enthusiast­ic volunteers are needed to power the 2018 TD Kitchener Blues Festival, Aug. 9 to 12. • The new Mennonite Central Committee rePurpose Centre in Elmira is actively recruiting friendly and customer servicefoc­used volunteers. We have an urgent need for workroom support to assist in processing donations and make the most of every item we receive. Many cashier positions are also available. There are lots of shifts to choose from: weekdays, Thursday evenings, and Saturdays. No experience necessary, all training is provided. Students are welcome. • The Volunteer Action Centre is recruiting high school aged youth to participat­e in our upcoming EPYC2018: Building Community events for teen volunteers (Kitchener: April 21, May 5, Waterloo: April 22, May 6, Cambridge: May 12, 26). Collaborat­e alongside a group of four to five teens over the course of two events to discover your passions, explore our community and challenge the status quo. • Interfaith Counsellin­g Centre is seeking your help with our 31st annual silent auction event. The ICC Silent Auction is a fundraiser with funds going toward the subsidizat­ion of counsellin­g services which help support individual­s in our community. This event features breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m., live entertainm­ent throughout the day, and a bake sale organized by the New Hamburg Lioness Club. This year the event will be held on Saturday, April 28, and shifts vary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are seeking floor marshalls and volunteers to help with setup and cleanup the day of the event.
