Stop the supply of opioids

Re: Cambridge prepares for battle over potential injection site — March 28

While our civic leaders, police chiefs and senior city staff either continue to sit on their hands, wait for states of emergency to be declared or wring them in anguish, nothing is being done to stop the root cause of our drug problem.

Stop the supply, cut off the source, then help those who need and want help.

Supervised injection sites are a honeypot for users, concentrated marketing opportunities for the pushers, breeders for new addicts and a blight on communities ill equipped to deal with all of the above.

A duty of care, to serve and protect the greater community, remains paramount. That’s where the attention should be. Downtown Galt is no place for a supervised injection site.

Downtown Galt needs help, not further harm.
