Azealia Banks claims she was drugged, raped

In a series of since-deleted audio recordings on Instagram, Azealia Banks claimed she had been roofied and “lowkey” raped. The 26-year-old rapper alleged that she had been assaulted and threatened to quit music. In the tearful voice memos, Banks said she “can’t even look at music right now” and said she was “embarrassed” and “broken down.” “Men can just prey on you and f —king like badger you, force you to say yes ... to the point where you feel like you gave consent but you didn’t gives—t ,” she said. Banks never identified the man or gave details on the situation. In another Instagram story Saturday afternoon, she updated fans on her situation. “I def got drugged in my drink but I’m waking up again,” she wrote. “It takes (a lot) to take this elephant down!! Show is still on for tomorrow ... see ya’ll then.” Banks is not currently on tour and it’s unclear where she’s performing.
