Driver clocked at 142 km/h on Highway 6

A driver clocked at more than 140 kilometres per hour on Highway 6 with two children in the car is facing a stunt-driving charge.

Hamilton police pulled her over in the 80 km zone north of Safari Road just after midnight Wednesday. Police say the Nissan reached 142 kilometres an hour while zooming by other cars on the highway. There were two small children in the car with the driver, a 35-year-old Cambridge woman.

She is charged with stunt driving, speeding and operating a vehicle without insurance. Her licence is suspended for seven days and her car has been impounded for a week.
