Restaurant crawl, food truck festival this weekend

WATERLOO REGION — Enjoy a food truck festival, celebratio­ns for Father’s Day and live music this weekend.

Here’s the shortlist: An assortment of food trucks will be at this year’s King StrEATery Food Truck Festival in downtown Kitchener. The selection of food offerings is diverse and there will also be live music in Carl Zehr Square with activities including a hair braiding station, a magician and games.

Head to Waterloo Public Square on Sunday for live music, art activities, games and more. The Open Streets event runs on a number of Sundays in Waterloo Public Square or Waterloo Park this summer.

The Kitchener Market is hosting a barbecue in the square with free jumbo hotdogs for dads, live music, classic cars and crafts for kids. Dad can get a free butter

tart at the Cambridge market.

At the Waterloo Region Museum’s Father’s Day Craft Beer Festival, adults can sample local beer, enjoy tasty eats from a variety of food trucks and take part in wagon rides and activities with the whole family. The $25 admission per person includes entrance to the museum, the festival, five beer samples and a souvenir sampling cup. Admission for children ages five to 12, is $5.

Go on an uptown Waterloo restaurant crawl. For the price of a $40 ticket, you can sample dishes from 10 different restaurant­s while enjoying live entertainm­ent positioned throughout uptown. Tickets are available through the Uptown Waterloo Business Improvemen­t Area at uptownwate­rloobia.com.
