Municipal election forums in Waterloo Region: Oct. 10 The Social Planning Council of Cambridge & North Dumfries is holding an all-candidates meeting for North Dumfries Township, 7 to 9 p.m., at McNeil Hall in the North Dumfries Community Complex, 2958 Greenfield Rd, Ayr. Oct. 10 The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario-Waterloo Region is sponsoring its final all-candidates meeting for candidates running in Waterloo Region District School Board elections in Cambridge. The event will be open to the public, and all trustee candidates are invited to the session. Rather than a formal debate, the format will allow people to engage with candidates through small-group discussions. Candidates will rotate every five minutes to a different table, and participants will be encouraged to ask questions on topics important to them.

Oct. 10 The Waterloo Regional Apartment Management Association
(WRAMA) has invited all City of Waterloo mayoral and councillor candidates, as well as Region of Waterloo chair and councillor candidates, to a discussion about rental licensing and affordable housing in the city of Waterloo. The event will run Oct. 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Golf ’s Steak House, 598 Lancaster St. W., Kitchener. Admission is free for WRAMA members; the event is open to the public ($5 entrance fee at the door). Oct. 14 Social Development Centre Waterloo Region will co-host a meetthe-candidate event. Unlike your typical debate format, this one is about conversations and listening. Sitting in groups, we discuss issues while candidates listen and later reflect on what they heard. The Waterloo Meet the Candidate event is Oct. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m.
