Q. What’s the relationship between Waterloo Bike Shop and Ontario Cycle?
A. Ontario Cycle is the online persona for the Waterloo Bike Shop and our sister shop Listowel Bike Shop.
Q. Why did you decide to open a store in Waterloo?
A. Opening in Waterloo was inevitable with the number of customers we had travelling to our Listowel shop. We are now closer and able to supply a better turnaround on repairs.
Q. How has consumer demand for bikes changed in recent years?
A. Consumers have changed how and when they use bikes. It has become a means of transportation, recreation and fitness
Q. What are the biggest trends in bike sales?
A. More people are moving toward the city/commuter style of bike even in the rural areas. E-bikes are starting to become a bit more mainstream.
Q. What is the biggest challenge you face in running your business?
A. The biggest challenge in running our business is in finding skilled staff, whether it be in the shop or on the sales floor.
