Q. After working at other spas, including at Langdon Hall, why strike out on your own?
A. I have a passion for the industry and I really wanted to create a space that would be welcoming, warm and offer top customer service. Take everything I learned from the industry and make my own with the best qualities.
Q. How did you decide on the location for Luminous Spa and Salon?
A. I am from Wilmot so I wanted to be close to home and Ira Needles (The Boardwalk) is the place to be — offering restaurants, retail and so much more. It’s close to the country but in the heart of the city. Q. What is the story behind the name of your spa and salon?
A. It really is just making people feel their best. To feel luminous, which in definition is full of or shedding light — bright or shining, brilliant, radiant, dazzling, glowing, gleaming and strong.
Q. In the competitive spa and salon sector, what do you need to do to stand out?
A. We are focusing on top customer service. That is my focus. I want clients to feel at home when they walk in the door. We also cover all aspects. We have a full salon, barber shop, spa and medi spa including an IV drip bar. We will have a sitting area outside to enjoy your lattes, cappuccino, coffee and tea.
Q. What is the most challenging aspect of running your own business?
A. I would say for me it is always wanting more and to give our clients more. I will always research and we will always have the next big thing.
