Fire & Ice Show (Dec. 13 – Mar. 27): Every Sunday night. Spend your evening with family and friends with free live entertainment! Who can resist fireworks and fire spinners – especially when snowflakes fill the air! Whistler’s best skiers and riders, including Whistler Blackcomb Snow School’s finest, hit a big air jump through a blazing ring of fire. Skiers Plaza: Whistler Village base. Show starts at 6.30 pm.

Family Après (Dec. 21 – Mar. 30): Every Monday and Wednesday night. Enjoy outdoor Canadian winter fun at Whistler Olympic Plaza. A variety of activities and entertainment happen each week. FREE. Kokanee Valley Race Series (Dec. 17, Jan. 7 – Mar. 10): The Kokanee Valley Race Series is held on Thursdays throughout the season. The series is open to skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders with different gender and age divisions. No racing experience is required to join in on the fun of recreational racing.

Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Sessions (Dec. 14 – Mar. 15): Open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages, Park Rider Sessions feature slopestyle, rail jams and half-pipe competitions. Helmets are mandatory. Preregistration is strongly recommended as events do sell out. Register through all Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations and Ski School Sales locations.

King of the Rail presented by Showcase (Dec. 19; Jan. 2; Jan. 9): The King of the Rail is a series of rail jam contests, which run on select evenings at the base of Whistler Mountain next to the Fitzsimmons Chair at 7:00 pm. Categories for snowboarders and skiers, males and females, and adults and youth. All participants have a chance to win fantastic draw prizes from Showcase, Atomic and Nintendo. Official Opening Day - Winter 2015/16 (Nov. 26): This is the day skiers and snowboarders look forward to all year! Celebrate your very first tracks of the season! Whistler and Blackcomb mountains as well as the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola open for skiing, riding and sightseeing. Date subject to change.

Bizarre Bazaar & Bratz Biz (Nov. 28 – 29): Featuring artisans from the Sea to Sky Corridor, Lower Mainland and beyond. A wide array of ceramics, clothing, fine art, wood, glass, metal, jewellry, leather, candles, as well as Christmas decorations. Bizarre Bazaar, including the young entrepreneurs of Bratz Biz, features live music, a silent auction, dancing and food. Entry is by donation. Whistler Film Festival (Dec. 2 – 6): Celebrating its 15th edition this year, the Whistler Film Festival is one of the leading festivals in Canada. The Whistler Holiday Experience (Dec. 19 – Jan. 3): This family fun zone is unparalleled for indoor entertainment! Kids enjoy a mini putt course, table games, bouncy castles, crafts and video games free for 16 days over the holiday season. Takes place at the Whistler Conference Centre between 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, excluding December 25 and 31.
Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve

Whistler Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard
Snowcross (Feb. 6 – 7, 27 - 28): The Whistler Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard Cross events are recreational competitions open to participants 9 to 13 years of age. Amateur skiers and boarders compete on the Nintendo Terrain Park Snowcross course in different divisions. For more information, call 1-800-766-0449. Sigge’s P’ayakentsut Cross Country Ski Event (Feb. 27–28): Be at Whistler Olympic Park at 10:00 am for the Sigge’s P’ayakentsut. This freestyle loppet on 15-, 30- or 50-km courses covers old-growth forest and worldclass racing trails. It is the largest loppet in B.C., with thousands in giveaways and prizes! The event runs over two days with the main loppet on Saturday and the kids’ tournament and youth ski cross on Sunday.

GoPro Junior Freeski Challenge (Mar. 17 – 20): This IFSA (International Freeskiers & Snowboarders Association) event challenges skiing competitors aged 12 -18 years old on big mountain terrain. They are scored based on style, control, technique, fluidity and line choice. Join the fun by entering in the GoPro and Whistler Blackcomb Instagram Photo Contest, Mar. 19 – 31.

The Woppet Cross-Country Ski Event (April 3): Finish off the Nordic ski season in style with the 6th annual Whistler Olympic Park Loppet (the “Woppet”). It starts and finishes at the Whistler Olympic Park day lodge, wrapping up with a BBQ, party and prizes!
