EDITOR’S NOTE
“Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘it will be happier’…” — Alfred Tennyson
Welcome!
Yes, I am confident that 2021 will be more promising. I anticipate that it will come with some challenges, but after the past year, I remain optimistic that it will be better — surely!
While we continue to face some restrictions on non-essential travel, we hope you will get a chance to visit us in Whistler this season when travel restrictions ease, and it is safe to do so. At that time, we will be here to greet you and provide that same warm hospitality for which the Whistler community is renowned. Perhaps this visit will be a little bit different from usual; still, there are always many fun adventures and exclusive “Whistler-only” experiences available! Until then, read us online to plan your upcoming visit, and stay in touch and up to date with everything Whistler on our social media platforms.
In this issue, we update you on our Local Vibe (p. 10 – 13) and suggest some unique activities for you to try in Why Don’t You (p. 14 – 17); invite you to see the latest stunning special exhibition at the Audain Art Museum, RESERVOIR by Rebecca Belmore (p. 22); let you know how winter activities might be a bit different this season in “Snow Sports Reimagined” (p. 28); treat yourself to some delicious meals in “Soul-Satisfying Delights” (p. 46) and tempting cocktails, as we “Raise a Glass to B.C. Craft Distilled Gin” (p. 52); learn how Whistler galleries’ artists are using their extra time in “Evolution – Artists in Motion” (p. 74) and much more!
Thank you for sharing this issue with us.
Stay safe, healthy and happy!
