Civic service big success

-

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the guests who came out on a snowy Sunday afternoon to attend the 45th Annual Civic Service at St. Mark’s Anglican Church on Jan. 15.

I would especially like to thank our guest speaker, Dr. Alan Wildeman, president and vice- chancellor of the University of Windsor. Also, the Windsor Regiment Band, the international choral ensemble, Masquerade, the Paulin Memorial Church Choir, Hanna Renaud and Christian Paulton and organist, Liz Coulthard, for the wonderful music.

Readers were Sheila Wisdom, the venerable Kim Van Allen and Rev. Thomas Rosica C.S.B. Greetings were brought on behalf of the provincial government by Teresa Piruzza, and the federal government by Brian Masse.

Thanks also go out to the organizing committee who put on this event. At this service, we gather to thank God for our city and to celebrate those who strive to make Windsor a community of excellence.

JANE GRAHAM, Lasalle
