Make it a football doubleheader on Saturday at Alumni Field at University of Windsor Stadium.

The OFC-leading Windsor AKO Fratmen have moved the club’s scheduled game against the Hamilton Hurricanes to Alumni Field.

The recent heavy rain has created safety concerns and poor playing conditions at Lajeunesse High School, which is normally AKO’s home field.

“It looks OK until you get on it,” AKO president Mike Morencie said of the field. “I think we’ll be OK next week, when we’re on the road (against London), and we have two weeks before we get home (to Niagara).”

The unbeaten Fratmen (5-0) will face the secondplace Hurricanes (4-1) in a game that kicks off at 8 p.m. AKO beat Hamilton 23-16 on the road in the third week of the season.

At 1 p.m., the Lancers will attempt to get back in the OUA playoff picture with a match against the Toronto Varsity Blues in the first game of the doubleheader at Alumni Field. The Lancers (1-3) are a half-game back of Guelph and York, who are each 2-3, for the final OUA final playoff spot. Toronto (1-4) is a half-game back of the Lancers.

Ademolu to coach: The Windsor TFC Stars have added Stephen Ademolu to the coaching staff.

A former national team member, Ademolu will work throughout the year in regular training sessions with Windsor TFC Academy athletes.

“We are very pleased that we are able to secure Stephen in this capacity,” TFC Stars president Vancho Cirovski said. “Stephen has been a great contributor to the program as a player and we are excited to continue the relationship with one of the best players the community has produced. He’s become a great trainer and has the passion to be a great coach.”

Ademolu was a standout in high school at Herman, with the Windsor FC Nationals, at NCAA Cleveland State University and played professionally for three clubs in European Premier Leagues in Sweden, Norway and Lithuania.
