Pest control firm called to hospital

-

A pest control company was called to Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Sunday after a male patient revealed he was suffering with head lice and bedbugs. According to hospital spokesman Bill Marra, the man, who was a patient at the detox centre on Prince Road, did not disclose his afflictions until he was discharged. “There was a bedbug and head lice issue with one client,” Marra confirmed. Pest control company Orkin visited the facility and all linens were double bagged as per protocol, he said. There are no concerns the pests might have made it to clinical areas within the facility, Marra said. “There’s no reason to believe that the issue spread,” he said.
