Police searching for woman who escaped custody while at hospital

Windsor police are searching for a woman who escaped custody while at Windsor Regional Hospital on Tuesday. The woman was in the Windsor Police Detention Centre awaiting a court appearance while she exhibited signs of medical distress. She was taken to hospital but escaped custody and fled the area. She was last seen southbound on Goyeau Street. An arrest warrant has been issued for Amanda Cowan, 36, of Windsor for escaping lawful custody.
