Paralympic Hall inductees named

The Canadian Paralympic Hall of Fame unveiled the class of 2017 Tuesday, with the official induction ceremonies scheduled for April 7 in Ottawa. Carla Qualtrough, a three-time Paralympic swim medallist and the federal minister of sport and persons with disabiliti­es, will enter the hall in the builder category along with Maureen Orchard of Winnipeg and Archie Allison of Toronto. They are joined by Ozzie Sawicki, of Cochrane, Alta., in the coaching category and alpine skier Karolina Wisniewska, who is originally from Calgary, but now lives in Ottawa. Inductees are featured in an exhibit at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
