Philosopher Kings to headline festival

-

The Philosopher Kings will take centre stage at this year’s LaSalle Strawberry Festival as the town celebrates the 30th year of the family-centred event. It was two decades ago that the Philosopher Kings hit the music headlines with their pop/alternative rock hits I Am the Man, Cry, Hurts to Love You and Castles in the Sand. The reunited band will bring new material to the stage as well. “Showcasing great Canadian talent is a big part of why we were chosen as one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario by Festivals and Events Ontario,” said Patti Funaro, interim director of culture and recreation. The four-day festival, which runs June 8-11 at Gil Maure Park on Front Road, features a carnival, fireworks over the Detroit River, parade, entertainment and local strawberries.
