Confiscate devices from drivers

Many years ago, I was opposed to the use of photo radar and viewed it as a cash grab.

I now am inclined to think that “photo distracted driving” would be a fantastic tool to prevent those who think they are above the law and do it on the sly believing they will never get caught.

As stated in a recent Windsor Star article, the offender who was stopped commented that he did not know that there was a $490 fine. I am confident that there would be a decline in these offences once the word gets out.

In addition to the fine, the offending device should be confiscate­d for a period of time if not permanentl­y.
