Domestic fracas leads to charges

A 23-year-old Chatham man is facing forcible confinement and assault charges after a heated discussion with a woman got out of control. Chatham-Kent police were called to a Chatham home around 10:30 a.m. Monday after reports of a man striking a woman. The woman reportedly called to be picked up by a family member, but said she couldn’t leave until she cleaned the blood off her face, police said. The victim was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital. The man was charged with forcible confinement and two counts of assault.
