RCMP arrest pair from Windsor for vehicle thefts in Nova Scotia
A Windsor pair has been arrested in Nova Scotia, charged with stealing cars.
Corey Lee Oickle, 37, and Taylor Erin Burgess, 27, were arrested Thursday in Bridgewater, N.S.
Oickle is charged with 12 crimes, Burgess with eight. At the time of their arrest, the pair was driving a 2015 Toyota Highlander reported stolen from Guysborough, N.S., police say.
Lunenburg County District RCMP says the investigation into the pair continues and further charges are pending.
RCMP say there has been a raft of car thefts in cities and towns throughout Nova Scotia. Police believe they are also responsible for vehicle thefts in Windsor and are believed to have been stealing items from unlocked vehicles.
Oickle is charged with five counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of stolen property, one count of uttering threats, one count of assault and two counts of breach of recognizance.
Burgess is charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of stolen property, one count of assault and one count of breach of recognizance.
They are both in custody and are to appear in court Wednesday.
