City services open, closed this weekend

Here’s a list of what City of Windsor services are open and closed over the Canada Day long weekend.

City offices will be closed Monday in observance of Canada Day on Saturday.

The city council meeting originally scheduled July 4 has been cancelled. The next meeting will be July 17 at 6 p.m.

The 311 call centre will be closed July 3. Regular hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will resume July 4. The 211 call centre will be open 24 hours on Saturday and Monday.

There will be no residentia­l garbage and recycling collection on July 3. Collection will be delayed one day. Night commercial, front end loader and weekly recycling collection­s are not delayed.

The public drop-off and household chemical waste depot at Central Avenue and E.C. Row Expressway will be open July 1, but closed July 3.

All community centres and customer care centres will be closed July 1 with the exception of scheduled rentals. They will open again for regular hours on July 3.

All indoor pools will be closed July 1 except for the Windsor Internatio­nal Aquatic and Training Centre. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the natatorium for open adult and fit lanes, and 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the fitness centre. Sandpoint Beach will be open 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. weather permitting. Regular hours will apply to all aquatic facilities on July 3.

All arenas will also be closed July 1, but open for regular hours on July 3.

The Adventure Bay Family Water Park will begin its summer hours on Canada Day. It will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until Sept. 3.

There will be no parking enforcemen­t on July 1 or July 3. Municipal ticket payment offices will also be closed. You can still pay for tickets online at citywindso­r.ca.

All locations of the Windsor Public Library will be closed on Saturday and reopen Monday.

The Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House will both be open on Canada Day. The museums are normally closed on Mondays.

City buses will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule on Canada Day. The tunnel bus will operate on a Saturday schedule. Schedules and route maps are available at citywindso­r.ca/transitwin­dsor.

Customer service at 300 Chatham St. W., will have regular hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The sales office at 3700 North Service Rd. E., is closed on weekends and will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday.
