Shaquille Keith’s threepoint­er lifts Express

Shaquille Keith drained a threepoint shot with nine seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Windsor Express to a 117-115 win over the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans on Sunday at the WFCU Centre.

The Express watched an eightpoint lead disappear in the fourth quarter, but Keith’s shot enabled the Express to reclaim the .500 mark (44) on the season in NBL of Canada play.

Keith led all game scorers with 25 points against the Titans (1-4). Logan Stutz finished with 23 points while Anthony Ottley Jr. came off the bench to score 19 points and pull down eight rebounds in just 14 minutes of play. Maurice Jones finished with 18 points for Windsor and Chad Frazier added 13 points.

Former Express guard Darren Duncan had 14 points for the Titans.

CLIPPERS EARN CONSOLATIO­N

The Kennedy Clippers won the consolatio­n final at the 61st University of Windsor boys’ high school basketball tournament on Saturday.

Kennedy beat London Mother Teresa by a 65-44 score at the St. Denis Centre. Marquis Lara-Caston had 14 points to lead the Clippers and Emmanuel Agong finished with 13 points. Oakville King Christian won the tournament with a 58-52 win over London Southwest Academy in the final.

STARS AND PROSPECTS

The Leamington Flyers and LaSalle Vipers each had three players selected to compete at the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Future Stars game and Top Prospects game, set for Dec. 28 in Ancaster.

LaSalle goalie Derhahn Stewart and defenceman Gianlucca Pizzuto were selected to play in the Top Prospects game, which will be played at 6:30 p.m., along with Flyers defenceman Jaydon Fetter and forward Griffin Robinson.

Leamington defenceman Colton O’Brien was picked to play in the Future Stars games, which will be played at 3 p.m., along with LaSalle defenceman Stefan Dobrich, who is a Windsor Spitfires draft pick. Forward Jordan Frasca, who is also a Spitfires draft prospect, was also selected for the game from the Chatham Maroons.

FLYERS GRAB POINT

Kenny Styles scored the lone goal of the third period to tie the game and the Leamington Flyers and Komoka Kings finished in a 2-2 draw in Western Conference play in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League on Saturday. Rory DiNiro had the other goal for the secondplac­e Flyers (19-8-4-1) while goalie Connor Meyerink made 27 saves.

VIPERS GET BLANKED

The LaSalle Vipers lost for the third time in the last four games as the club was shut out 2-0 on the road against the London Nationals in Western Conference play in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League on Saturday. Goalie Dershahn Stewart made 39 saves for LaSalle (18-12-1-1) while the Vipers produced just 19 shots on goal against the first-place Nationals.

ADMIRALS EDGE 73’S

Caleb Paquette and Cory Burns scored third-period goals as the Amherstbur­g Admirals rallied for a 3-2 win over the Essex 73’s in Bill Stobbs Division play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League on Saturday. Burns scored the gamewinnin­g goal with 74 seconds left in regulation.
