City office hours, services reduced over holidays

City services slow to a crawl over the holidays with some services offering reduced hours and others closed completely.

City offices and the 311 call centre will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1. The call centre has reduced hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Dec. 22 and Dec. 29. The 211 call centre remains open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The next city council meeting will be held Jan. 8 at 6 p.m.

Garbage and recycling collection­s will be delayed over the holidays. Christmas tree and yard waste collection will be held during the weeks of Jan. 8 and Jan. 15. Refer to the collection schedule, visit citywindso­r.ca or call 311 for further details. Public drop-off and household chemical waste depots are closed from Dec. 24 to 26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Community and customer care centres will have limited hours and they are subject to change.

Arenas close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (except for AM800’s New Year’s Evening at the WFCU Centre) and all arenas are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Lanspeary Lions and Charles Clark Square outdoor rinks close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 and are closed on both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Bright Lights Windsor at Jackson Park is open nightly until Jan. 7, 5:30 to 10 p.m., with special light shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

All Windsor Public Library branches are closed Dec. 24 through Dec 26 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park will be closed Dec. 25, as is the Chimczuk Museum and the Francois Baby House. Both museums are also closed Jan. 1, while the Baby House is closed Dec. 24, 26 and 31.
