- DALSON CHEN

A Windsor man described as a massage professional is facing a charge of sexual assault following a complaint from a female client that he touched her inappropriately.

Windsor police said the complainant — a woman in her 40s — had an appointment to be massaged by the accused at a downtown business on Dec. 29 at 6 p.m.

According to the woman, the inappropriate touching happened during the appointment.

She reported the incident to police the next day.

As a result of an investigation by the major crimes branch, police arrested the man at his home on Thursday around 12:15 a.m.

Shawn Boycott, 46, has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He was still in custody at press time.

Investigators believe the accused has been employed by several massage businesses in the city and region.

In November 2017, The Spa by Windsor Arms — a spa business located inside Caesars Windsor hotel and casino — announced Shawn Boycott as a registered massage therapist on staff.

A year earlier, in November 2016, the East Windsor Massage Therapy Clinic announced a registered massage therapist named Shawn Boycott as a full-time member of the clinic.

Boycott is described as a graduate in massage and hydrotherapy programs, with prior education and employment as a physiotherapy assistant.
